Hi, Melissa,

I just wanted you to know that your article, "The Long Good-Bye," really spoke to me. My children are still young (7 and 3), and I often find myself getting caught in the trap of wishing these "little" years away. Think how much time I'll have to write once they're both in school! Think how much easier life will be when they can make their own lunches. When my son can dress himself. When they don't need me so much. Then I read your article, and it reminded not to wish it away, but to savor it, because before I know it these days will be gone, and I'll wish for them back. I posted a blog about this today, and included a link to your article. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. It has helped me to be truly thankful this Thanksgiving for my family, right here, right now.
